If the following is not present at a paintball field
DON'T PLAY!!!!!

1. The field MUST have a chronograph.  They must also enforce that EVERY player must
ensure their paint marker is below 300 feet per second.  The field should also be doing periodic checks of the player's paint marker throughout the day. * 335 + will break skin.
A chronograph is an electronic radar device which measures = feet per second.

2. The field MUST enforce the use of goggles in the playing and chrono areas.  They must only allow goggles SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED for paintball.

3. The field MUST have a designated safe area, well away from the playing area or seperated by mesh where players are allowed to remove their goggles.

4. The field MUST have a barrel plug rule and enforce it in the safe area, because players will have their paint markers in the safe area, where no one will be wearing goggles.  The barrel plug is a device which prevents a paintball from leaving the barrel if the marker is accidentally fired.  There should be no shooting in the safe area ever.

5. The field MUST have competent and experienced field staff to enforce the rules of safety.   What good are the rules if no one is enforcing them?

If any of the above 5 basic safety requirements are not present or being used at a paintball field
don't play.  Remember this is just a game!!  Its not worth anyone ever getting hurt or losing an
eyeball.  If you are a parent ask your kids where they are playing and if the safety rules are being
followed and enforced.  Paintball is just a game, but can be dangerous if rules are not followed.
